Năm nay sắp hết rồi nên Digibeatchemist + nói chuyện với nhau để coi những CD gì ra năm nay tụi nay gọi là hay nhất. Nói chung năm nay Digibeatchemist+ cho rằng nhạc rất là chất lượng và nhiều flavor. Điều ngạc nhiên nhất là CD mới của Britney Spears, tụi này cho là một trong những 'POP' CD ra năm nay mà...rất là hay! Khoan khoan!

Ahhhhhhh! không thấy NIN và Tool trong đây phải không? Đúng rồi, tuy Duy rất thích NIN và Tool, Duy củng cải lộn với tụi này rất nhiều về nhạc của 2 ban nhạc này tại sao không lọt vào vòng trong. Dể hiểu, tụi này chọn CD dựa vào rất nhiều điểm phải có,nhạc và lời viết hay, thu âm và hoà âm hay, độ cảm của trình diển, nghe bất cứ lúc nào củng được, ấn tượng lạ lùng...và cuối cùng là nghe hoài không chán, với lại phải có cái gì mới.

Âm Thanh cho game, phim, và TV

Kyma w/ OSX

3 năm về trước tôi âm thầm đi học và tìm hiểu nhiều về cách chế biến âm thanh cho phim ảnh. Thật là một thế giới bao la và rất là khác với công nghệ sản suất của nhạc. Tôi quyết định đây là một đường hướng tiếp tục nghề kỷ sư âm thanh của mình. Tôi đi kiếm thầy và làm intern cho mấy studio ở Burbank, California qua lời giới thiệu của sư phụ C. Ronan và bạn thân Luke Ehret. Khi bước vô lảnh vực biến chế âm thanh cho phim ảnh, tôi hoàn toàn phải đổi cách suy nghỉ khác nhiều với cách sản suất âm thanh cho nhạc và nhất là dụng cụ (hardware và software).

Nhìn ớn thiệt nhưng một chúc xíu hiểu về synthesis và âm thanh sẻ mở thế giới của Kyma cho bạn

Về phần mềm, tôi dùng rất nhiều âm thanh và cách biến chế của Kyma, Reaktor, và Waves inc. cho phim. Đối với tôi, Kyma đây thật sự một phần mềm dành riêng cho thế giới của chế biến (sound design) âm thanh. Kyma đươc dùng rất nhiều cho những phim khoa học, ma/quỷ, action, và nhất là cho âm thanh của game. Dùng Kyma đòi hỏi sự hiểu biết của căn bản âm thanh và lý thuyết của synthesis. Bạn chỉ đọc một chúc là hiểu ngay. ...Coi nhe!

What is going on with Digibeat lately?

Our exhibition in Orange County, Ca. with Artist Doan Vinh. We have to close 2 days ahead of schedule due to that we ran out of art work to sell. Things flew off the show room floor at amazing rate. The LA Times had written a favorable review and article about our exhibition, which I think is huge. I may have to travel back to VN sooner than expected to help out and work on our next project with Vinh and Doan Khoa.

Trong một chuyến đi trên đường lộ tại Việt Nam, tôi vô tình lái xe cán ngang một con cóc nằm trên đường. Một loại cóc địa phương của Hà Nội đầy mụn ghẻ, bé thân, và trông rất là gớm. Lam, bạn tôi hơi thấy lạ nhưng không ngạc nhiên khi thấy loại cóc này tự nhiên lại đi lạc vào TP Hồ Chí Minh nằm ngay đường xe đi của tôi. "Có thể vì năm nay mưa nhiều. Hình như em nhớ nó bỏ chồng đi qua Mỷ kiếm thẻ xanh...à quên cỏ xanh?" Lam cười dởn nói tiếp, "Cá tính loài cóc này khôn lắm mà sao lại như thế này? em nghỉ nó không đoán được một ông VK như anh lại lái xe một cách dể dàng trên con lộ ở VN như thế này; hay là nó xa sứ nên mù tịt chết mẹ trong Nam ?"

Tôi quay lại nhìn con cóc thì thấy nó không còn đi tới được nửa, miệng vẩn còn mở định kêu cái gì đó. Đầu tôi suy nghỉ thấy tội cho con cóc xấu xí kia, chỉ mong chiếc xe tới là chiếc xe tải có thể làm ơn và chấm dức số phận tệ bạc, ông trời ban cho nó của kiếp này, nhanh chóng hơn.

Duy cám ơn rất nhiều bạn bè kỳ này trong chuyến đi rất vui và nhiều may mắn.
